經歷了接近半年時間的監禁，對關恆來說，這也加深了他對自由的感受。關恆說，過去在中國的時候，「我只是覺得被關到監獄、失去去自由其實是一個非常可怕的事情，但是具體有多可怕，我感受不到，我也不能完全想象到。」直到第一次真切地感受到失去人身自由之後，他才更意識到自由的重要性。
